Emrie

Emrie is growing too fast. Pants that fit her at the beginning of winter are now too short. She became a Sunbeam in January and it's so fun to see her sitting pretty in the front row with her class full of boys and only two other girls.

Some other things about Emrie:
She loves anything pink. If we go to the library and she see's a pink book - even if it's a chapter book - she wants to get it.

She's way to young to read, but she loves making up stories as she turns the pages of a book. Her stories usually make no sense, but it is fun to listen to her mind trying to be imaginative.

She is old enough now to dress herself. I had to bungee cord her dresser drawers closed because she was pulling all her clothes out of her dresser just so she could look at them.

When she says her "L" sound she over-pronounces it. Instead of gently touching the tongue to the back of the teeth the way the "L" sound should be made she pushes the just the tip of her tongue onto the roof of her mouth and then holds it there one millisecond too long. Example "pa-llleese" for the word "please."

Almost everyday when she sees something that she likes she asks if she can have it for Christmas. I tell her "we'll have to ask Santa" and that satisfies her until she sees something else she wants. By the time Christmas comes around her list will be so long that we'll need to UPS it to the North Pole in a large box.

The other day she was looking through a magazine that had a picture of a snowman. She said, "that snowman needs a hat so he can be alive."

She loves to watch home video's (which she pronounces "home bideos").
