Christmas tree

Okay, so it's been a long time since I've updated my blog so I'm doing a quick Christmas recap: We had a wonderful Christmas this year. I'm amazed at the love and thoughtfulness of the people in my life. Thank you to all of you who helped make this a magical Christmas for us!

Why is it that every year on the day we decide to pick out our Christmas tree it happens to be freeeeezing outside? It felt like negative 20 degrees. In the picture below Gabe and Mason posed just long enough for us to get a quick picture in front of some fabulous-looking trees (okay, "fabulous" might not be the right word). The cold certainly helped us to hurriedly decide on a tree. My thinking was "as long as it's green and stands up kinda straight I'll take it!"

Once we got our tree home the kids couldn't wait to decorate it. Our tradition is to decorate the tree while listening to Christmas music, eating cookies and drinking eggnog. The kids love the eating cookies and drinking eggnog part of this tradition. Emrie ate too many cookies and complained that her tummy hurt. After a visit to the bathroom she was feeling better. Here is a little tid-bit of info on Mason: He LOVES eggnog! That boy would drink it day and night if he could. Maybe next year Santa will just fill his stocking with it.
